I'd like to go.... but not alone and thought if some of the people from the singles group would like to go.... it would be different than going to a bar or something like it.

This weekend is my Father's Birthday... so can't do it this weekend.

Kitty and I also been planning on going out for pizza (or something like that) .... at a great place right next to the Garneau Theater.

You are not the only one. Grew up here, never once went to the Museum. Always wanted to though. Never went to the Garneau Theater to see a movie, just passed it going to work.

Is this the way it is nowadays? Nobody goes out and does anything anymore? dunno

Is it too costly? Not fun? Too dangerous? Not worth the effort? What is it?

There was a time when even I used to go out, but not so much over the last several years. Is this what I have to look forward to in my forties, fifties and beyond?
Friday night, at my Mom's housesitting on the computer. sigh

It is the way it is, I had great plans with a three year old and we were to be snuggled in bed, but she discovered green jello cups and I am again watching treehouse!! But it could be worse! Atleast you are somewhere where you have the option of going to a great museum and be thankful that you have a mom that talks to you. So chin up, tomorrows another day!cheering

No, not all stay home........ I'm still trying to figure out making friends and getting out with other people. Most people I know are married or have a partner.

I'm not a club or bar person, and getting someplace, it has to be accessable by bus or not expensive to get back via taxi. Not as many are interested in the art galleries or museum.

I consider going to the park... a date. Walking around town, or site seeing on foot can be a date. Don't cost much.

As for watching a movie...... sometimes feels more comfortable at home. :-)

I do not know if this is expensive..... but a first date .... go to West Edmonton Mall, and play glow in the dark mini putt.

Went there for a xmas party from work. So I think it would be fun, make for laughing, hopefully a more relaxed atmosphere. Hopefully casual, and help relieve pressure to impress.

What do you think?

I don't mind going to a bar if there's something happening there, like a band I like playing or some sort of entertainment...other than karaoke.scold but not to just sit there and drink.

I used to go out to the museum, plays, the movies, walks or whatever. Not many are into that anymore because they have kids, married, paired up or divorced, getting divorced and want to whine about it and drown their sorrows in a bottle. Not my idea of fun.laugh

I just don't see all that many people, not like I used to anyway.dunno

That's a good idea.
I kinda like bowling too. You get the chance to check out each others butts and the women get to try on shoes.laugh

Too bad...... still have to get with Kitty for Pizza... if you can come and join us, you'd be welcome....... same with any one else near and in Edmonton..... or passing through.

Kitty and I are going to meet, but if others would like to join us they are welcome. When we know for sure, we will let everyone know, and make it an open invitation.

I went on Saturday with a friend, and it was very interesting. We have to go back because we were unable to see the other displays upstairs.

There was a gift shop there and it would be nice to get somethings for my kids.

The Dragon display was very cool. Lots of ancient dragon carvings from Asia.
The craftmanship it took to make the stuff was mind boggling when you think of what kinds of tools they had back then. It was very enjoyable, and recommend it to anyone interested in going.

I could get right into that stuff. Too bad I didn't live closer or else I would have come with ya! I love museums and art galleries. It took me 4 days to do the Hermitage (Winter Palace) in St Petersburg......no dragons though, just Egyptian mummies. Never saw any daddies though.

Draco...was he there?grin

Hope everybody had a good long weekend.
